Delete your data

How to ask, what gets deleted, and how long it takes.

Tarsier: Learn Tagalog, by Gathrean Dela Cruz · Updated October 22, 2026

You can ask us to delete the data Tarsier holds about you at any time, on iPhone, iPad or Android. We delete it within 30 days of your request.

Delete your account in the app

If you have a Tarsier account, you can delete it yourself: open Settings, then your account page, then Advanced, then Delete Account. Your account, email address, @handle, leaderboard entry and the progress backup on your account are deleted straight away, and your progress on the device is erased. On older versions of the app, Delete Account is on the account page itself.

How to ask

  1. Email support@tarsierlearn.com with the subject "Delete my data".
  2. Say whether you use Tarsier on iPhone or iPad, or on Android, and whether you want all of your data deleted or only some of it, such as the progress backup on your account while you keep the account.
  3. If you have a Tarsier account, write from the email you sign in with, or include your @handle. If you don't, tell us the name you entered in the app, so we can find your analytics records.
  4. We reply to confirm, and again when it's done.

What we delete

  • Your account, email address, @handle, leaderboard entry and the progress backup on your account, if you have an account
  • Your Android tester sign-up, if you made one: the email, name and phone model you gave, and your membership of the testers' Google Group
  • The analytics records in PostHog that we can match to you
  • Your email address on the Android waitlist, if you joined it

What you delete yourself

Some of your data never reaches us, so only you can remove it:

  • Your progress on your device. Uninstall the app. On Android you can also clear its storage in your phone's Settings, Apps, Tarsier, Storage. On iPhone and iPad, use "Reset All Data" in Settings.
  • Your iCloud backup (iPhone and iPad). Turn Tarsier off under iCloud in your iPhone's Settings, or delete the app's iCloud data from your Apple Account.
  • Ad data. Google AdMob holds the data it uses for ads under Google's own privacy policy. Delete or reset your advertising ID in your phone's privacy settings, or decline App Tracking Transparency on iPhone and iPad.

What we keep

Anonymous analytics we can't match to you stay with PostHog under their own retention policy, as section 10 of the privacy policy explains.
